3 Things Graphic Design Can Learn From Interior Design
We were fortunate enough to cross paths with Lisa Bradburn Interior Design who gave us 3 epic tips which all designers can transfer to their respective industries.
- It’s Not About You
This is pretty much a truth which spreads across all business sectors. We can often get caught up in a tangle of what we want the client to want rather than really tuning in on what it is the desire from your design services. The first rule is that it is never about you. We asked Lisa Bradburn Interior Design about this and she had said that her first rule is to always understand the customer and what it is they are after without influencing them in the slightest.
- K.I.S.S – Keep It Simple Stupid
Simplicity is everything. The fact is, nothing is more pleasing on they eye than elegance and simplicity. We can often over complicate things and keep adding to the original idea. This will cover up the original inspiration behind the design and you’ll get lost within your own complexity.

It is always the small and sometimes un-noticeable-at-first-glance attributes to a design which has the power to wow your clients and other viewers. In many ways it makes the design exclusive to them which gives a more personal touch to the finished product. This will also help them to develop an emotional attachment with the design which will only regenerate their love for your work.
